As you know the Tour de France is the most popular of the three Grand Tours and thus the most popular cycling event in the world. Many people watch it on TV (the Tour de France is the first annual sports event in terms of TV audience) or visit the Tour alongside the road, but more and more people want to be really part of it and become a Very Important Person for one day ...
The organisor of the Tour de France thus rewarded the Official Tour Operator status to some tour operators specialised in sports. But what can an Official Tour Operator offer? VIP access to the Tour de France
Except for being invited by one of the companies sponsoring the Tour de France (your chance to get such an invitation is quite small unless you are a big customer of one of those sponsors!), only an Official Tour Operator is able to provide you VIP access to the Tour de France.Access to the Village Départ / private VIP areas close to the finish.
Meet famous people of the Tour de France (former professional riders, but also stars such as Ben Stiller this year).
Do the stage in a car only one hour before the riders pass (imagine the atmosphere with the people standing alongside the road cheering at you because they think you're a star!) or even follow a rider on one of the time trial stages in an official Tour de France car.
Step on the podium just like the professional riders do only a few hours after your picture was taken on the highest step!
The only Official Tour Operator for the Tour de France based in Europe
Strangely, Sports Tours International is the only tour operator with the Official Tour Operator status which is based in Europe.The company proposes cycling tours and cycling holidays on the major events such as the Tour de France, the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a España, but also specific cycling holidays during which you get to show your performances on a bike yourself. Participate in the Etape du Tour Mondovelo with Sports Tours International
Sports Tours International is the largest tour operator to the Etape du Tour Mondovelo. This cyclo sportive event allows amateur cyclists to ride one of the official Tour de France stages in the same conditions as the professional riders and only a few days before the professional riders do it.As announced in my article about the rumours on the Tour de France 2010 route, in 2010 the Etape du Tour Mondovelo will probably be on Sunday 18 July 2010 between Pau and the Col du Tourmalet. This stage will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the first visit of the Pyrenees and thus the Col du Tourmalet by the Tour de France.
Sports Tours International is the official agent for people participating in many countries outside France and thus proposes complete packages including hotel accommodation and local transport but also entry only registrations. In order to arrive at the start of the Etape du Tour 2010 in good shape, the company also proposes two training weekends in the UK: the May Day Bank Holiday weekend and the May training weekend on 21 May.
Other cycling tours and cycling holidays
Finally, Sports Tours International not only organises cycling trips to France. The other Official Tour Operators for the Tour de France
Besides Sports Tours International, A.S.O. has awarded the Official Tour Operator status to two other companies: Bike Style Tours based in Australia and the American company Custom Getaways. The company run by a former professional cyclist, Ronan Pensec Travel, is a technical tour operator and can thus provide access to some parts of the Tour de France.

ben oui mais je vais devoir me concentrer et relire ton article car j ai rien capté mdr, moi je ne veux pas faire du vélo , je veux juste un laisser passer , ou une accreditation pour te voir et voir JAJA et puis René...voila c est tout pour le moment ..!!

hallo, mijn vriend is grote fan van wielrennen en veldrijden. Het is zijn grote droom een VIP gast te mogen zijn in de tour voor één dag. Graag zou hij een meerijden met een volgwagen en de renners eens ontmoeten! Hij heeft al veel meegemaakt en is zijn grote trots (ZIJN PAPA) verloren aan een hartaanval. Samen hebben wij een dochter van 5maand (Anne-Laure). met cadeautjes kan ik hem weinig plezieren dit is zijn grote droom! Is er iemand die mij kan helpen? Ik heb al overal gezocht waar ik eventueel aan VIP kaarten kan geraken?

@SEBASTIEN : renseignez-vous donc auprès d'un des tour opérateurs officiels du Tour de France. Je sais que Custom Getaways par exemple vend des accès à l'unité, mais je ne sais pas si c'est le cas pour le village départ cette année. Dites-leur que vous les contactez de ma part :-).

Je suis une grande fan de cyclisme et mon rêve serait de voir mon coureur préféré André Greipel ainsi que son équipe Lotto Soudal en vrai, c'est à dire de pouvoir acceder aux accès réservés aux coureurs !
Je me permet de vous envoyer ce mail car j'ai remarqué qu'il était possible d'avoir un badge invitation VIP pour voir de près les coureurs.
Seulement,je ne sais pas comment faire...
