This Tuesday the 33rd Tour Poitou-Charentes en Nouvelle-Aquitaine will start in Niort. 5 stages in 4 days (of which one time trial on Thursday afternoon, after a short stage in line in the morning) for a total of about 660 kilometers will be waiting for the riders on the routes of the former Poitou-Charentes region!

1/ Tuesday 27 August 2019 - Niort > Rochefort-sur-Mer - 188.9 km
The first stage of this "TPC" will start at the Acclameur, concert and conference hall, in Niort. After the start the riders will first go off north until Château-Bourdin before going back down south turning around Niort on the west side. They will already have climbed 4 short climbs which count for the King of the "Mountains" (everything is relative, in the Poitou-Charentes the climbs are not that long, difficult or high) classification, before they get to the sprint in Sansais and the feeding zone which is just after that. A second sprint will take place in Usseau and the third and last one will be in Bernay-Saint-Martin where the riders will change directions to continue west. Just after the sprint they'll find a 800 meters long climb at 6% before they go off to the finish in Rochefort, on the Boulevard de la Résistance.Hereunder you'll find the time- and route schedule, the stage profile and the race route on Open Street Maps for this stage. 2/ Wednesday 28 August 2019 - Rochefort-sur-Mer > Aigre - 168.1 km
Starting in Rochefort this second stage will go off east, with a first difficulty just after Genouillé, and going around Saint-Jean-d'Angely on the south side. The first intermediate sprint will be in Sainte-Même in front of the town hall and the feeding zone will be just after Matha. After another climb in Beauvais-sur-Matha the riders will continue south-east until the sprint in Rouillac. In Marcillac-Lanville they'll get on the final circuit with a sprint at the first crossing of the finish line and a nice climb of 1.4 km at 6% (with a part at 14%), before the finish in Aigre.Hereunder you'll find the time- and route schedule, the stage profile and the race route on Open Street Maps for this stage. 3/ Thursday 29 August 2019 - morning - Châtellerault > Pleumartin - 110.7 km
On Thursday morning a short stage in line, starting in Châtellerault, will be on the programme of this 33rd Tour Poitou-Charentes. After a first climb early in the stage, the riders will rapidly go towards the finish where they'll battle for the only intermediate sprint of this stage, but they'll still have to do the final circuit in which they'll find two difficulties, in Saint-Pierre-de-Maillé and in Angles-sur-l'Anglin known for its magnificent semi-ruined castle. 4/ Thursday 29 August 2019 - afternoon - Leigné-les-Bois > Pleumartin - individual time trial - 23 km
On Thursday afternoon there will be an individual effort, in a 23 kilometers long time trial between Leigné-les-Bois and the same finish as for the stage in the morning, in Pleumartin. From the start, the riders will go off one by one towards Chenevelles south-west of the start location, and then turn south-east until the intermediate timing point. 5/ Friday 30 August 2019 - Aigre > Poitiers - 167.4 km
The 5th and last stage this Friday 30 August will start in Aigre and go off north. Between Vaux and Champagné-Saint-Hilaire the riders will find two short climbs and they'll find the feeding zone just after Saint-Maurice-la-Clouère. They'll continue via the intermediate sprints of Fleuré and Jardres before they get on the final circuit around the finish city, Poitiers. This circuit has changed a bit compared to the previous years because the riders will no longer take the climb of the côte de la Barre but a climb on the Route des Deux Communes of 1,200 m at 5% (of which the 350 first meters will be at 8%), and which will be closer to the finish on the Rue de Nimègue where the riders will find the last intermediate sprint at the first crossing of the finish line, before they'll do 2 full laps on the circuit.Hereunder you'll find the time- and route schedule, the stage profile and the race route on Open Street Maps for this stage.
