This Sunday, July 7, 2024, the 9th stage awaits the riders of the Tour de France 2024. Special for several reasons: it starts and finishes in the town of Troyes, just 1.3 km apart, and contains no fewer than 14 white roads, for a total distance of 32.2 km, out of the 199 that make up the stage (i.e. 16.2% of the total distance).

For Radio Sports, Thierry Gouvenou was kind enough to come and explain us the particularity and raison d'être of this stage, among the 21 that make up the Tour de France 2024. Find out more below!

At the end of the 8th stage in Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises in the late afternoon, Thierry Gouvenou, event director on the Tour de France and as such the architect of its route, explained to us the particularity of this 9th stage and its raison d'être on a route like that of the Tour de France 2024.

The route of stage 9 of the Tour de France 2024 - Troyes > Troyes - 199 km

You've already been able to discover the complete route of the Tour de France 2024 on OpenStreetMap and in Google Earth for almost two weeks, but on this occasion we allow you to (re)discover the route of this 9th stage between Troyes and Troyes on this Tour de France 2024, with its 14 white roads, for a total distance of 33.2 km. At km 47.3, the riders arrive on the first white road (numbered 14, as they are numbered in descending order towards the finish), and leave the last white road just 6.5 km from the finish.
