With the Tour de France 2024 just over, with the impressive final victory (coupled with 6 stage wins! ... including the final time trial) of Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates), it's already time to turn the gaze towards the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with the individual time trial on the program this Saturday, July 27, 2024.

The course runs from the center of Paris, at Invalides, eastwards to Vincennes and its famous château and wood, before returning almost to the starting point, in this case for a finish on the Pont Alexandre III.

Below you'll find not only the detailed map of the course for this Paris 2024 Olympic Games individual time trial, but also the list of starters, as well as their starting order and times.

From the Parvis des Invalides in Paris, the riders will head in their individual effort first to the Assemblée Nationale, then along Boulevard Saint-Germain to the Pont de Sully to cross the Seine, then on to Bastille, where they turn around the Colonne de Juillet before passing in front of the Opéra Bastille.

Via Avenue Daumesnil, they then head towards Bercy, before taking Rue Charenton along the railroad tracks to the ring road (périphérique) and the Bois de Vincennes, passing the Vélodrome Jacques Anquetil (formerly known as La Cipale and an Olympic venue in 1900 and 1924). After passing the INSEP (Institut National du Sport, de l'Expertise et de la Performance), they set off on the return journey, with the second intermediate timing point again at the Château de Vincennes.

Re-entering Paris via Porte de Vincennes, they head for Nation before continuing on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine to Bastille, where they take the same route as the outward journey, via Pont de Sully and Boulevard Saint-Germain, past the Assemblée Nationale, this time turning right to Pont Alexandre III, opposite Les Invalides, to head for the finish! The total distance of this time trial is 32.4 km.

The starting order and times for the women's and men's individual time trial at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

In the women's race, 35 runners will start in front of the Invalides, while in the men's race 34 runners will start (Daniel Martinez was unable to obtain a visa).

The women start every 1'30" from 2.30 p.m. until 3.21 p.m., while for the men the first start will be given at 4.32 p.m. to Amir Ansari, who runs under the banner of the Refugee Olympic Team (EOR), and until 5.21 p.m. every 1'30" to the World Champion of the discipline, Remco Evenepoel.

The latter is of course one of the favourites, but he'll be up against other favourites such as Josh Tarling (Great Britain), Filippo Ganna (Italy) and other discipline specialists!
