March is here ... and so is the classics season! This weekend, it's the turn of Omloop Nieuwsblad (yes, the word "Het" has been removed from the race title since last year, the race used to be called "Omloop Het Nieuwsblad") on Saturday and Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne on Sunday.

In this article, you'll find all the information you need about the first one, the Omloop Nieuwsblad 2025, including a map of the course in OpenStreetMap and downloadable in Google Earth, the route and profile of the race, and the list of starters.

The Omloop Nieuwsblad 2025 course on OpenStreetMap, race profile and timetable

First of all, we'd like to point out that on the map of the Omloop Nieuwsblad course you'll find below, the route has been cut into three parts to make it easier to read (as some parts are run several times): the first part in dark blue, the second in red and the third and last in green. To allow the first passages on certain roads to be seen in background color, the blue part is drawn wider, then the red part, while the green part is in the usual size.

After the start in Ghent (Gent), the race heads south-east through Oosterzele and Sint-Lievens-Houtem, before turning off at Herzele towards Zottegem. They find the first cobbled section, Paddestraat (1500 m), and the first feed zone, before turning left and then left again to find the second cobbled section, Haaghoek (2000 m), and the first climb, Leberg (1). They then head west/north-west, passing first a new feed zone, then Oudenaarde and yet another feed zone, before turning right at Kruishoutem to Eke, then right again to the Lange Munte cobbled section (2500 m) and a new feed zone, before continuing on to the red section of the course.

They then follow the same route as before via the Haaghoek cobbled section and the same climb, Leberg (2), but this time they push on a little further: instead of Elst, they turn right at Michelbeke and then right again at Nederbrakel, to pick up the Valkenberg (3). They then return to the blue route before leaving it shortly afterwards to head towards Schorisse and the Eikenberg (4), a cobbled climb. They then cross the blue course to Volkegem and Wolvenberg (5) and three cobbled sectors, Holleweg (1100 m), Karel Martelstraat (1200 m) and Jagerij (800 m). They then finish the red loop and move on to the final green section. This takes them up the cobbled Molenberg (6), before the cobbled Haaghoek and Leberg (7), and this time they continue on towards the finish.

Before reaching the finish, they climb the Berendries (8), the Elverenberg - Vossenhol (9), pass through a final feed zone before heading for Grammont (Geraardsbergen) to climb its famous cobbled Mur de Grammont (10), before finding the final, partly cobbled climb of the day, the Bosberg (11). Then it's on to the finish in Ninove to find out who will win Omloop Nieuwsblad 2025 and succeed Jan Tratnik (Team Visma | Lease a Bike at the time, now Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe).
