After the Classic Bruges-La Panne -and its chaotic finale (see video and results on the race page)- won by Juan Sebastian Molano (UAE Team Emirates XRG), we continue this Friday with another Belgian classic, the E3 Saxo Classic 2025, starting and finishing in Harelbeke (historically, the race was called the E3 Harelbeke). The rest of the program includes Ghent-Wevelgem on Sunday ... before the pressure builds up to the Tour of Flanders the following Sunday!

In this article, you'll find details of the route of the E3 Saxo Classic 2025, on an OpenStreetMap map also available for download in Google Earth, the hourly itinerary, the profile, as well as the list of starters for the Belgian race.

After the start in Harelbeke, the race heads east, on the upper part of the course shown in blue on the map below, heading towards Waregem and Oudenaarde before reaching the first cobbles and climbs (Beaucarnestraat cobbles [1.2 km], the Katteberg [750 m at 6% / max 11%] and the Holleweg cobbles [1.5 km]). After the cobblestones of the Paddestraat and a passage through Zottegem, we then loop eastwards through Grammont before entering the land of mountains and cobblestones!

Following up on each other we'll have La Houppe (1,880 m at 4.8% / max 10%), Kanarieberg (1,050 m at 7.7% / max 14%), Oude Kruisberg (800 m at 4.8% / max 9%), Knokteberg (1,260 m at 7% / max 13%), Hotondberg (1.200 m at 4% / max 8%) and a little further on, after passing through Zulzeke and level with Nukerke, Kortekeer (1,000 m at 6.4% / max 17%), the cobbled Taaienberg (700 m at 6.3% / max 16%) and after passing through Maarke-Kerkem and Schorisse, Berg ten Stene (1.300 m at 5.2% / max 9%), which closes the blue part of the route on the map below.

On the return section to Harelbeke, drawn in red, it's on to Boigneberg (1.000 m at 5.2% / max 12.3%), the Eikenberg (1.250 m at 6.2% / max 10%; where last year it was still the Ellestraat climb that was on the programme), the Stationsberg (700 m at 3.2% / max 10%) fully cobbled, followed by the cobbles of the Mariaborrestraat, then a little further on the Kapelberg climb (750 m at 7.1% / max 14%), the Paterberg (400 m at 12.9% / max 20.3%) fully cobbled, the fully cobbled Oude Kwaremont (2.200 m at 4% / max 11.6%) and, quickly back on the blue part of the race, the climb to the E3-COL Karnemelbeekstraat (1.530 m at 4.9% / max 18%), the cobbles of Varent and the Tiegemberg (750 m at 5.6% / max 9%), before the return to Harelbeke, where the finish takes place at the same point as the start, in the Stasegemsesteenweg.

The list of starters for the E3 Saxo Classic 2025

At the time of initial publication of this article, the definitive start list for the E3 Saxo Classic 2025 was not yet available, but we do know that this will be the first Belgian classic to see recent Milan-Sanremo winner Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) take on Wout van Aert (Team Visma | Lease a Bike), and even if the Dutchman is higher on the list of favourites (not least because Van Aert is only making his comeback in this race) it promises to be a great duel! Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates XRG) was announced as well for a while, but in the end the Slovenian will not be present at E3, although his participation in Paris-Roubaix 2025 now seems to be confirmed!
