When it comes to cycling races at this time of year, it's only logical that we're talking about the Belgian classics, and this time it's the turn of A travers la Flandre (or Dwars door Vlaanderen-A travers la Flandre as the race is officially called, with its title in both Flemish and Walloon) on Wednesday. And this of course before the Tour of Flanders 2025 which is highly expected and will take place this Sunday.

A travers la Flandre 2025 features a course of 184.2 kilometers, with 10 climbs and several cobbled sectors. In this article, you'll find details of the A travers la Flandre 2025 route, on an OpenStreetMap map which is also available for download in Google Earth, the race profile, the hourly itinerary, and the list of starters in the Belgian race.

A travers la Flandre 2025 route on an OpenStreetMap map

The start of A travers la Flandre 2025 will be given from the station square, Stationsplein, in Roeselare, and via Ardooie, Ingelmunster, Oostrozebeke and the finishing town of Waregem, the riders will then head for the Flanders hills, where there will also be some cobbled streets. Before passing through Kluisbergen, the first hill could be the Tiegemberg, but this is not considered one of the hills this year. This is followed by a long straight that takes the riders towards Oudenaarde and the first hill, the Volkegemberg. Then begins a double lap that follows the hands of the clock, with several difficulties: first the riders find Berg Ten Houte and Knokteberg - Trieu and finally Hotond. Shortly after the cobblestones of Mariaborrestraat and Gieterijstraat, the first part of the race - shown in black on the map - is completed, and they begin the second clockwise lap, shown in burgundy red on the map.

After the two cobbled sectors (Mariaborrestraat and Gieterijstraat), they then turn left towards the cobbled Eikenberg climb, before crossing Oudenaarde again and heading for the cobbled sectors of Doorn, Huisepontweg and Wannegemdorp. A final little loop then begins, first following the black arrow northwards, over the cobbled Nokereberg, the cobbled Herlegemstraat and then the Waregem racecourse (hippodrome) (as had already been the case at the start, on the black part of the race) to the Nokere climb (the same summit as the Nokereberg, but with the climb from Waregem).

On the green section, they then do this little loop again, but in Waregem, this time they don't go past the racecourse (hippodrome), but continue straight on before turning right twice, towards the finish at the Verbindingsweg in Waregem. We'll know at around 4.45pm (the finish is scheduled for between 4.35pm and 4.57pm) who will succeed Matteo Jorgenson!
