In the series of classics, and following Jasper Philipsen’s (Alpecin-Deceuninck) victory this Wednesday at the Danilith Nokere Koerse, the 2026 Bredene Koksijde Classic is already on the horizon, set to take place between Bredene and Koksijde this Friday, March 20, 2026.
Known until 2018 as the Handzame Classic because the finish line was then located in Handzame, and created only in 2011, this race was previously part of the Three Days of West Flanders, serving as one of its stages.
With a cancellation in 2020, the race is now in its 15th edition.

The route of the Bredene Koksijde Classic 2026 on an OpenStreetMap and the race profile
The Bredene Koksijde Classic 2026 starts in Bredene, a suburb of Ostend on the coast, and quickly heads inland. It passes through Lo-Reninge and bypasses Diksmuide and Ypres via Vlamertinge to reach Reningelst, where the riders then encounter a surprising series of loops, made easier to follow by two-color arrows: the first section marked with black arrows and the second with red arrows, and by the alternating colors on the map, where the first section is red and the second is orange. It is during this sequence that the riders will climb the two main hills of the 2026 Bredene-Koksijde Classic twice: the Banenberg and the Kemmelberg, which will be climbed from both sides.
Upon exiting these loops, the riders will then head toward Poperinge before setting course toward the sea and thus the finish line. Before reaching the finish, they will pass through Veurne and enter a final circuit that they will complete three and a half times, crossing the finish line in Koksijde four times. And so, around 4:30 p.m., we will know who will succeed Edward Theuns.
