Since it’s the last week of August, it’s already time for the start of the third Grand Tour of the year, the 2026 Tour of Spain—or, in other words, the Vuelta a España 2026, which will kick off in Monaco for a decidedly international race, taking riders through Monaco, as well as France, Andorra, and, of course, Spain!

Over a total distance of 3,308 km (spread across 21 stages), in which Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates XRG) will be the clear favorite, the riders will compete for the famous red jersey, which will be worn by the race winner during the final stage in Granada.

1/ Saturday, August 22, 2026 - Monaco 🇲🇨 > Monaco 🇲🇨 - individual time trial - 9.4 km

The first stage of the 2026 Vuelta a España will take place in the Principality of Monaco and will be an individual time trial. This time trial will follow a course that is almost entirely flat but highly technical, with numerous turns over a distance of 9.4 kilometers.

2/ Sunday, August 23, 2026 - Monaco 🇲🇨 > Manosque 🇫🇷 - 204 km

The second stage of the 2026 Vuelta a España, the first road stage, starts in Monaco, but it is not until Nice—after 21 kilometers of neutralized racing and the climb up the Col d’Eze—that this stage will truly begin, covering 204 kilometers toward Manosque, France.

Until Villeneuve-Loubet, the riders will follow the coast before heading inland to tackle the Alto Châteauneuf-Grasse climb (3rd category) head-on, then head toward Draguignan and turn toward the Col de Saint Andrieu climb (3rd category). The riders will then continue on their way to the intermediate sprint in Gréoux-les-Bains before turning toward Valensole, running parallel to it, and heading toward the finish in Manosque.

3/ Monday, August 24, 2026 - Gruissan 🇫🇷 > Font Romeu 🇫🇷 - 174 km

The third stage of the 2026 Tour of Spain will continue on French soil, starting from Gruissan. That is where the completely flat section of this stage ends, before climbing—passing through the intermediate sprint in Villefranche-de-Conflent—first toward the Col de Mont-Louis (1st category) and then continue on to the final climb leading to the finish in Font-Romeu (2nd category).
