Remco Broers, rider in the Team Differdange - Magic-Sportfood.de from Luxembourg, today celebrates his birthday on the roads of the Rhône Alpes Isère Tour 2011.
A short interview with this rider who was part of the Rabobank Continental Team last year thus seemed to be the best way for me to wish this rider a happy birthday!
Remco, today's your birthday. How old are you now?
I celebrate my 23rd birthday today.
Is this your first Rhône Alpes Isère Tour?
Yes, it's the first time I was at the start of this race.
What did you think of this race?
It didn't go so well for me, I'm actually quite disappointed. I felt I was not in shape as I hoped I would be. But it's been a nice race and I'm now looking forward to the upcoming races and hoping I'll get some better results there.
How did the race go for the rest of the team?
We have had two guys among the first, Christian Poos and Jonas Ljungblad (5th in the first stage). In the general classification we don't really have any chances, only one rider, we'll have to see how things turn out from now on.
What do you think of the organisation of the RAIT?
It's a very good organisation, good logistics and the security on the roads is well done. It's great!
It's some heavy stages here. It's just too bad that in the second stage, the climbs were early in the stage while the rest of the stage was completely flat. I personally prefer when it's the other way around, but the last two stages are really beautiful.
