Time flies, autumn and October are already here and so it's already time to turn our attention to a French classic that's customary at this time of year, Paris-Tours! Already in its 118th edition in 2024, it takes place - as it has since 2018 - between Chartres and Tours.
Also since 2018, the race finale has been enlivened by a series of climbs and vineyard paths, and this will also be the case for Paris-Tours 2024.
In this publication you'll find the Paris-Tours 2024 route on an OpenStreetMap map, the race profile and hourly race itinerary, as well as the option to download the route in Google Earth. You'll also find the list of starters who will be lining up at the starting line in Chartres.

The Paris-Tours 2024 route on OpenStreetMap, the hourly itinerary and the race profile
After the start in Chartres, from Place Châtelet, the race heads towards Vendôme and the feed zone, passing through Bonneval, Logron, Cloyes-sur-le-Loir and La Ville-aux-Clercs.After refuelling, the race continues south to Herbault before heading south-west to Dame-Marie-les-Bois and then south again to Cangey, where they are close to the final stretch of hills and vineyard paths, starting with the Côte de Limeray, the Chemin de Vigne de Limeray (#10, 900 m) and the Chemin de Vigne de Pocé-sur-Cisse (#9, 1.1 km). Moving away from the Loire River again, they arrive at Côte de Goguenne, immediately followed by chemin de vigne de Grosse Pierre (#8, 1.5 km) and a little further on chemin de vigne du Château de Valmer (#7, 500 m), Côte du Bois de Chançay and chemin de vigne de Chançay à Reugny (#6, 900 m). Heading back down towards the Loire and approaching the outward journey at Chemin de la Grosse Pierre, they then arrive at Côte de la Vallée du Vau and Chemin de Vigne de Noizay (#5, 600 m), followed fairly quickly by Chemin de Vigne d'Épinettes (#4, 1.2 km), Côte de la Rochère, chemin de vigne de Vernou (#3, 900 m) and, after crossing Vernou-sur-Brenne, Côte de la Vallée Chartrier, chemin de vigne de Peu Morier (#2, 1.6 km), Côte de Vouvray and chemin de vigne de Rochecorbon (#1, 800 m).
They then ride along the Loire, crossing it at île Simon via the Pont Napoléon, towards Tours, where they head for Avenue de Grammont, which they ride in the opposite direction, again towards the Loire, to head for the finish of the race. The winner of Paris-Tours 2024 will be decided at the end of these last 800 m of straight line!
The final 68 km of the 213.8-kilometer course includes no fewer than 8 climbs and 10 vineyard paths covering a total distance of 10 kilometers. The course is strictly identical to that of the last two years, but this time the race will take place in wet conditions and with a headwind in the first part.
