The Grand Prix E3 Harelbeke will start at the same place as where we'll know the winner of the race at the end of the afternoon, in the Stasegemsesteenweg in Harelbeke, and the riders will go off north to the real start at the train crossing just under the N43.In order to make the map easier to read, the race route has been split up in 3 parts: the start of the race in bright blue, the second part with almost all the mounts in orange and the final part in green.
From the real start of the race, the riders will go off south-east until Avelgem where they'll really turn east towards Oudenaarde. Turning south, they'll get on the first mount of the race, the Katteberg over 600 m with an average slope of 6.7%. Turning towards Zottegem which they'll circumvent via the feeding zone on the N46 they'll climb the Leberg over 700 m with an average slope of 6.1% and just after they passed north Herzele they'll turn right towards Geraardsbergen.
They'll get another feeding zone before they climb La Houppe, 3,440 m long with an average slope of 3.32%. Going back to the place where they turned towards the Leberg, they'll climb Berg Stene over 1,560 m with an average slope of 7.3%.
That's where the orange part of the race starts with a big number of mounts which follow up on each other rather quickly:
- the Boigneberg over 2,180 m with an average slope of 5.8%
- the Eikenberg over 1,200 m with an average slope of 5.5%
- the Stationberg over 460 m with an average slope of 3.2%
- the Taaienberg over 650 m with an average slope of 9.5%
Puis un peu plus loin :
- the Knokteberg over 1,530 m with an average slope of 5.3%
- the Hotondberg over 1,200 m with an average slope of 4%
- the Rotelenberg over 1,100 m with an average slope of 3%
- the Kortekeer over 1,000 m with an average slope of 6.4%
- the Kapelberg over 900 m with an average slope of 4%
- the Paterberg over 700 m with an average slope of 12%
- the Vieux Quaremont (Oude Kwaremont) over 2,200 m with an average slope of 4.2%
Getting on the green part of the race route, they'll climb the Karnemelkbeekstraat over 1,530 m with an average slope of 4.9%. The riders will then go up north-west back towards the start/finish and on their route they'll only find the Tiegemberg from there, over 1,000 m with an average slope of 6.5%, before they speed on to the white line which will be crossed first by the rider who'll follow up on Peter Sagan as the winner of the Grand Prix E3 Harelbeke!
