After having published my article Some statistics of the 2009 cycling season yesterday, I propose to discover a new top 10 today.

The Jeunes Reporters du Tour

You remember the Jeunes Reporters du Tour 2009? You know, those 4 boys and 2 girls, between 13 and 16 years old, who worked on the Tour as if they were real journalists and regularly published their newspaper à notre tour.

The archives of this newspaper, distributed during the Tour de France in the Village Départ and in the press room, are still available on the Jeunes Reporters's website.

In their third edition the two girls of the editorial staff, Léa and Marion, published their top 10 of most glamorous riders of the Tour de France 2009.

However, a few months after the Tour and after having seen them wearing a suit at the Tour 2010 presentation in Paris, Léa and Marion decided to update their top 10 and Marion accepted to share it exclusively with you on www.velowire.com!

The new top 10 of most glamorous riders of the Tour de France 2009

Here's their new top 10 ... with an explanation of their choices as a bonus! (between brackets you'll find the place each rider had in the original top 10 of 8 July 2009)

    Maxime Bouet (Agritubel)
because he's one of the youngest riders (he recently celebrated his 23rd birthday, TV) , because he has a really nice smile, because he really works his "young Christophe Moreau" look and because he listens to the same music as we did during the Tour, that is "Hey you" by Pony Pony Run Run
  • 3/ Lloyd Mondory (AG2R La Mondiale) (2)

  • 4/ Geoffroy Lequatre (Agritubel) ((-)

    Alberto Contador (Astana)
because he has not only won the Tour, el PiSTOLERO also has very nice hazelnut brown eyes ...
  • 6/ Tom Boonen (Quick Step) (6)
    Tom Boonen (Quick Step)
because there's no single girl who has missed his beautiful fashion photos on the internet, and because a good sprinter changes from the skinny guys we usually see..^^

(do they mean this photo, or this one or maybe the gladiator ad for his Northwave shoes, the Lazer helmet ad or simply his photos for Le Coq Sportif?)
  • 7/ Grischa Niermann (Rabobank) (7)

    Laurent Lefèvre (Bbox Bouygues Telecom)
because with his sun tan he makes us think of the south of France where we're both from ... And also because his big smile is the proof of a good daily dose of humour.
  • 9/ Oscar Freire (Rabobank) (9)
    Oscar Freire (Rabobank)
because with his a little bit neglective look, the Spanish charm really becomes visible ...

(sorry ladies, but in such an article and with such a comment, I couldn't help getting this photo in mind!)
  • 10/ (ex-aequo) Brice Feillu (Agritubel) (-)
    Brice Feillu (Agritubel)
because in addition to his dazzling look and his ever-lasting smile, this young French rider is extremely gentle ...

Anthony Geslin (5) and Sébastien Joly (4) (both Française des Jeux) have disappeared from the new top 10.

And you?

What do you think of this ranking? Do you agree with the two "Jeunes Reporters du Tour" girls? Or would you like to propose another top 10?

(this question mainly adresses the feminin readers of this blog, but hey guys don't be shy to comment this article either!!)
