For this last week of April, the Tweets of the week are mainly about the Tour de Romandie and its two time trials, a big event the whole world was watching last Friday: William and Kate's marriage, and about another event, a sports event which will take place soon: the Tour of Italy. We also talk about Geraint Thomas shaving his legs and Sean Weide (BMC Racing Team) explains us why the results of the Tour de Gila took so long. And that's not all ...

A simple look at the time trial parcours with Taylor Phinney

Taylor Phinney (BMC Racing Team) gives his look on the Tour de Romandie prologue:

You'd almost give it a try yourself!

Don't fall, that's all what counts!

Chris Froome (Team Sky) announced on Twitter he was happy he stayed upright and didn't demolish a flower bed during the Tour de Romandie prologue this year ... in contrast to last year and to some other riders. His Twitter avatar still shows this fall!

Mission accomplished!

Time trials are not fun for all riders

With two time trials in the Swiss race, everyone kept talking about the race against the clock. After the second time trial of the Tour de Romandie, Ben Swift (Sky) admitted he's not a fan of time trials and even wondered how anyone could enjoy them.

Cameron Meyer (Team Garmin-Cervélo) suggested he'd like it because it's so peaceful to spend time by himself without anyone bothering him.

Not convincing enough for Ben Swift:

Fortunately he's a better sprinter because he won the last stage of the Tour de Romandie last Sunday!

Alex Dowsett, proud of his iPad 2

The Team Sky rider was happy with the new toy he received. Especially because of the text he got printed on it:
Would he be the only one in his area who likes time trialling? In this case this inscription will definitely allow people to bring it back to him if he loses it one day!

Did we say already these Tweets of the week were mostly about time trialing?!

Geraint Thomas ... shaving his legs!

In the life of a pro cyclist, a few days of rest are important to allow the body to rest and to do some other things than only riding a bike. It does however also bring some inconveniences ... Geraint Thomas (Team Sky)'s tweet proves this because after two weeks, shaving his legs didn't turn out to be that much fun!

A royal marriage wiht a flavor of the Tour de France

Of course everyone was watching the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton this week. The crowd of people who came to see the newly married couple recalled memories of a few years ago for some riders. Fabian Cancellara was one of the riders who thought about the crowd he saw at the prologue of the Tour de France 2007 which took place in London.
Fabian Cancellara - tweet of the week

Apparently I was not the only one who thought about my first Tour de France when I saw the images of Kate's car which followed almost the same track as the prologue! I wouldn't however have been able to say it in perfect Fabianese like this :-).

A plausible explanation!

Sean Weide, not only Press officer for BMC Racing Team but also social network champion and thus responsible for all messages which bring the American team with Swiss sponsor closer to its fans, discovered why the results of the Tour de Gila took so long to be available!

Renshaw not a fan of the Tour of Italy?

Craig Lewis (Team HTC-Highroad) welcomed the first day of May enthusiastically because it announces the Giro d'Italia coming up soon.

His team mate Mark Renshaw apparently didn't feel exactly the same about that:

Cav' doesn't like the German accent!

The newcomer on Twitter talked about the briefing of the German sports director before the Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn-Frankfurt. Apparently he also thinks German is an aggressive language. The sports director seems to be angry ... but he's not!
Mark Cavendish - tweet of the week

That's that, those were the Tweets of the week!
